from a photo challenge in A Poet’s Haven
As I set and watch her
from across the room
She sat there, expressionless
as if she was waiting for someone
As he entered the room
her eyes lit up
Slowly her lips began to part
not to smile but to speak
The flames within her eyes
grew in intensity lighting her face
a dark smoke emerge in between
her nearly silent words
The light in her eyes began to flash
as the first scream emerge
The man waved his arms
followed by the rest of his body
People scrambled as more and more
screams engulfed the room
His face and hair erupting into
flames as he screamed in pain
I noticed her eyes once again
The man’s body could be seen
A frantic dance of screaming anguish
As a smile emerged on the once
Expressionless face
