Thundering Hooves

for the night

was as day

besieged as it were

black was the dawn

as a grey mist

emerged

sounds from within

were in tongues

once known

clashes of steel

echoed across time

words of the dying

were lost in the wind

banners of kings

now ancient and worn

pranced in silence

atop the greying mist

thundering hooves

with clashes of steel

shook the earth

an echoed afar

as the Sun

grew nigh

the grey mist

withered

as sounds and

shadowy silhouettes

faded into the

pale blue sky
